This is a small sampling of my stick figures. I enjoy drawing emotions and actions that people can relate to. Visual elements of communication and humor can be understood by many cultures. By using simple figures, emotions can be conveyed in exaggerated ways that the human body is not always capable of. (For example, growing alien arms.) I began drawing stick figures, such as these, during a gesture drawing (quick sketching) course I took in undergrad. Similar to gesture drawing, stick figures are are a quick process from my thought process to paper. It mirrors gesture drawing through its quickness and adds a side of silliness. Much like the instant gratification of throwing peas across the dinner table.
